Chiropractor in Belle Plaine, Dr. Todd Meeker
I was intrigued by Chiropractic Care…
I didn’t experience a miracle, but I’ve seen them as a colicky child, migraines, ear infections, lost function in arms or legs, constipation and the list goes on.
After completing my undergraduate degree in Natural Science at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, my path took me to Germany via the U.S. Army where I had a lot of time to think about what I liked and did not like. My great-grandfather was always described as a health nut but to me it was intriguing. I was amazed how he utilized everything natural to assist his body to heal and maintain his health. Chiropractic seemed a perfect fit because I love working with and helping people reach their health goals. My great-grandpa would be very proud to have a chiropractor in his family who helps people to find new levels of health and wellness by improving and removing nerve interference and allowing the body to heal from the top-down and inside-out.
My Chiropractic Journey
I attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic because it had a great reputation for academic standards and was located near where I intended to practice. Despite thinking the most difficult part of Chiropractic school being getting accepted, I quickly realized that this program was rigorous and challenging. Anatomy tested every last active brain cell that was available but proved to demonstrate the intricate nature of how the body is put together with all the wisdom in the universe. After meeting and befriending, Professor Horns (a retired MD pathologist), he impressed upon me that the education I was receiving in Chiropractic school was equally as thorough and challenging as any other medical profession. From that day forward, I had a brighter fire and passion for the power that made the body heals the body as long as there is no interference.
Chiropractic As A Way Of Life
It all started when I met my now wife, Connie, while I was attending St. John’s University and she was attending the College of St. Benedict. Along came Alex, Sam and Anna. (All four years apart) Alex loves baseball, football, Boy Scouts and memorizing statistics. Sam’s interests are soccer, baseball, Cub Scouts and reading. Anna attempts to keep track of her brothers’ activities while playing with Barbie, playing dress up and choosing her next outfit. I love to pitch/kick or catch baseballs, soccer and footballs with my family until my arms and legs won’t let me and then just a little more. Coaching allows me to combine my passion for sports and spending it with the people I most want to share it with thus allowing time to pass like a lightning bolt in the night. Some of the fondest memories are on the rainy days when as a family we build a nest or fort and watch a movie or just let our imaginations fly.
Chiropractic is not just what “I do” but a way of life for me and my family. I have an active lifestyle and healthy diet. Health habits are formed by observing those around us and avoiding all the temptations. Enjoying the outdoors helps to promote a health, active lifestyle. My family does not take any antibiotics or over-the-counter pain relievers. My first two children have very limited vaccinations and my last has none.
